Hillcrest Bank takes fraud protection seriously. We will never contact you via e-mail, telephone or other methods to verify your personal or confidential information.

We go to great lengths to ensure your private information remains that way. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that meet or exceed federal standards to guard your personal information.

Steps you can take to protect your personal information: 

  • Review your account statements closely 
  • Shred old statements, keep them in a secure place or move to online e-statements 
  • Memorize your user IDs, PINs and passwords. Do not keep them in your wallet or write them on the backs of your cards 
  • Change user IDs, PINs and passwords frequently 
  • Do not let anyone borrow or use your Visa ATM and debit card 
  • Never give out personal information via phone or e-mail unless you have initiated the contact
  • Do not send your personal or account information in a non-secure e-mail
  • Refrain from printing your drivers license or social security number on your checks 
  • Take advantage of your free credit report yearly
